Abdullahi Sabo, a resident of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja, has been kidnapped.
According to DailyTrust, Sabo and his spouse were on their way home when their car was stopped by gunmen on Sabon-Lugbe Airport Road in the capital of the country.
When the sad tragedy happened, the victim was operating his Ash-colored Lexus SUV, registered under the ABC 769 TP license plate. Witnesses claim that when he drove home after leaving the city center, assailants in an unmarked Golf car opened fire, causing the SUV’s tires to go deflated.
Daramola Joseph, a neighbor of the victim who attested to the occurrence, stated;
“They fired the tires, causing the car to halt, but the man’s wife had already fled before they could approach the jeep. They left with the spouse, nevertheless. When the shooters opened fire, the guy and his wife were making their way back from the city center toward the Jedo Estate access road.
This happened less than 48 hours after gunmen broke into Army Estate in Kurudu, Abuja, and took some of the occupants hostage.
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike gave locals confidence in their safety at townhall meetings in the Bwari and Gwagwalada Area Councils, stating that sufficient security measures had been implemented. In addition, he declared the capture of a few bandits and their informants.
The FCT police command has not yet responded to this information.
