Another gaffe that could raise questions about US President Joe Biden’s mental stability was his announcement on Friday, March 1, that he was approving US airdrops of aid into “Ukraine,” when he was meant to say the Gaza Strip.
While receiving Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in the Oval Office, the 81-year-old American commander in chief twice confused the two locations.
“We will work with our friends in Jordan and other countries to airdrop more food and supplies into Ukraine in the coming days. We also want to keep exploring for ways to open up other entry points into Ukraine, such as a potential marine corridor that could allow for the large-scale delivery of humanitarian aid,” Biden stated.
Afterwards, the president said, making it obvious that he was talking to Gaza.
At fundraisers twice in February, Biden informed donors that he had a conversation in 2021 with Helmut Kohl—the German chancellor who departed in 1998 and passed away in 2017—about the Capitol riot that year on January 6.
Additionally, according to Biden, that 2021 conversation included former French President Francois Mitterrand, who passed away in 1996 after leaving office in 1995.
In a heated press conference on February 8, Biden made more mistakes when he called Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi the “president of Mexico.” Hur, a special counsel, had concluded that no jury could find Biden guilty of mishandling classified documents due to his alleged senility.
