A 17-year-old child who was reportedly abducted by suspected kidnappers has been saved by the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, often known as So-Safe Corps.
Commander (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, the Office of the State Commander of the Corps, released a press statement on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, stating that on Sunday, Iboin reported to the Olorunda Post of the Corps that his son, Otohu Moses, had been abducted at Olorunsogo Community, Olorunda in Abeokuta North Local Government Area at approximately 10:15 p.m. on Monday, January 29, 2024, while he went outside to relieve himself at the rear of the house.
Sunday contacted his son’s phone number multiple times when he did not see him return on time, and a man answered and spoke to him in Yoruba that his child had been kidnapped.
Ganzallo reported that the father had additionally stated that the alleged abductors demanded a ransom of one million, five hundred thousand naira, or ₦1,500,000.
It was also disclosed that the victim’s father informed the Corps that he believed one of his neighbors was responsible for organizing the kidnapping.
The boy was saved unharmed, albeit with cane marks on his body, while the three armed kidnappers who were spotted made off with one motorcycle. The Corps’ operational team planned, launched an attack, and engaged the alleged suspected kidnappers in the forest, some kilometers away from the kidnapping site.
For additional investigation, the rescued victim has been moved to the Imala Divisional Police Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force, Ganzallo stated.
