Today, January 31, a combined team comprising the police, NSCDC, Amotekun, O.P.C., and local hunters began a bush combing operation through Oke-Osun, Ikere/Igbo-Okah, and to the dense woodland around the Iju/Ikere line in an attempt to drive out criminal elements, mainly kidnappers, from the State.

Five accused kidnappers—Usman Jelili, Mohammed Bande, Abubakar Aliu, Isah Abdullahi, and Suleiman Abdullahi—were taken into custody during the operation.

The suspects claimed to be herdsmen during questioning, but it was later established that none of them actually owned any livestock, and none of the cattle that they had in the forest when they were detained had any cattle on them.

Two motorcycles, one cutlass, and one jack were among the things found from the suspects, said to DSP Abutu, the command spokeswoman, who confirmed the arrest to reporters on Sunday.
