BIOGRAPHY OF JUMOKE ODETOLA

born in Lagos on October 16, 1988. Of a family of nine, Olajumoke Otedola is the last to be born. Parents and Seven Offspring—six girls and one boy— The actress is originally from Ijemo, in the Ogun State town of Abeokuta. After attending ABATI Nur/Pry School in Lagos State, Odetola attended “ABEOKUTA Girls Grammar School, Abeokuta” for her secondary education.

She first graduated with a bachelor’s degree in information and communication technology/computer science from Ajayi Crowther University in Oyo State. She then went on to Federal University of Agriculture in Abeokuta, where she earned a master’s degree in the same field.In an interview, she disclosed that she received a 4.3 CGPA upon graduating from the university. The actress served at Abia State throughout her NYSC year.

Career
In an interview with Punch, Odetola revealed that her parents had not supported her desire to pursue a career in acting. But they accepted her chosen career because she was happy in the entertainment sector. She also talked about her involvement in the movie Somewhere in the Dark, which starred Gabriel Afolayan and was considered her most difficult performance to date. She named Abiodun Jimoh as her primary mentor in the film industry and Majid Michel and Omotola Jalade Ekehinde as major influences in her early acting career.

Awards

She took home the BON Awards’ revelation of the year trophy in 2015.Additionally, Odetola earned the best indigenous language film prize at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for her performance in Binta Ofege and Somewhere in the Dark. Through Somewhere in the Dark, she was able to keep the award in the fifth iteration of the ceremony. In the 2017 Best of Nollywood Awards in Ogun State, she was also awarded best actress in a lead role (Yoruba). Odetola was nominated for best supporting actress at the 2017 City People Movie Awards (Yoruba).
