On Monday afternoon, February 12, gunshots broke out at a Bronx train station, leaving one guy dead and five others injured.
At approximately 4:30 p.m., gunfire was heard on the uptown 4 train platform at the Mount Eden Avenue station, prompting the New York City Police Department to open an investigation.
According to the police, the incident started as a fight on a train turned into a brawl on the platform.
Authorities think that two groups of youngsters on a northbound metro train got into arguments before anything else.
A 35-year-old man was shot and killed, according to an NYPD spokeswoman. After being brought to St. Barnabas Hospital, the guy was declared deceased.
According to the spokeswoman, there were two women and three men among the survivors.
As of Monday night, the conditions of all the victims were stable.
After being shot in the ear and thigh, a 15-year-old kid was sent to New York Presbyterian Hospital.
After being shot in the right arm, a 28-year-old guy was sent to St. Barnabas, and a 71-year-old man was transferred to Bronx Care Hospital.
A fourteen-year-old girl who had been shot in the foot was also brought to Presbyterian.
After being shot in the face and neck, a 29-year-old lady was transported to St. Barnabas.
Some officers could be seen walking alongside the stopped train cars, while others were gathered outside the metro entrance. There was police tape hung everywhere.
Instead, the dispute got more heated until one guy drew a revolver. It is believed that a few of the victims were involved in the argument.
“This is not acceptable, and there needs to be swift, immediate, and severe consequences when detectives make an arrest, which I’m sure they will,” Kemper declared.
