Woman allegedly tortures her 11-year-old housemaid with broken bottle, hot iron and knife in Anambra

The Anambra State government has rescued an 11-year-old girl, Happiness Nwafor, from her abusive wife in Onitsha.

The Ministry of Women and Social Affairs, which rescued the minor, said it was informed of the incident on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 and acted quickly, including sending a team to the scene.

The minor narrated his ordeal and claimed that he was beaten by his wife Adachukwu Chukere Okafor for touching her daughter’s body.

Mr Happiness claimed that his wife Ada used her broken bottles, iron, knife and gun during their stay of just two weeks.

Further investigation revealed that the suspects allegedly burned the girl’s clothes and took her naked to a relative named Ifeoma Muogal.

A relative, Mrs Ifeoma Muogal, claimed that at the Ogidi Hospital where she was first admitted, the suspect boasted that nothing would happen to him as he was a lawyer and knew how to get out of the situation.

Mr Ifeoma also noted that the suspect had not answered his phone calls since the incident.

She also admitted that the minor was handed over to her wife on January 5, but was only harmed by the short period of her stay.

The victim is currently receiving treatment at an unknown hospital in Awka.

The suspect from Nkpor is said to be married to a man from Awka.
