In a statement on Saturday, January 27, 2024, Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala, the spokesperson for the KZN police, acknowledged the occurrence and stated that a murder case is being investigated.
Colonel Gwala claims that on Thursday, January 25, 2024, the victim was shot several times outside a well-known restaurant. She died from her wounds after being taken to the hospital in a serious state.
The woman allegedly suffered injuries after being attacked by armed criminals when she was parking her car. She was brought to the hospital, where her injuries ultimately claimed her life, according to Gwala.
According to ALS spokesman Garrith Jamieson, emergency personnel responded to the gunshot near Pastoll Road shortly after eight in the morning.
“After being called to a vehicle, paramedics discovered a woman, thought to be in her 20s, suffering from several gunshot wounds to her body and in severe condition. The woman was stabilized on the spot by Advanced Life Support Paramedics before being sent to a nearby Durban hospital, but she passed away soon after, according to him.
