A general-purpose machine gun (GPMG) with 27 rounds of live 94.5mm ammunition was found by Katsina State Police Command operators, who also neutralized a suspected bandit and stopped a kidnapping attempt in the Dandume hamlet.
The operation was headed by Dandume DPO, according to ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the command’s spokeswoman, who made this announcement in a statement on Friday, January 26, 2024.
“A report on the movement of some suspected armed bandits in their numbers, wielding dangerous weapons like General-Purpose Machine Gun (GMPG) and AK-47 rifles, coming towards Dandume LGA, was received at the Dandume divisional police headquarters on January 25, 2024, at about 1930hrs,” the statement said.
“DPO Dandume mobilized members of Operation Sharan Daji and Restore Peace as soon as he received the report.”
