In a concerted operation and ongoing campaign against criminality in the Federal Capital Territory, agents of the FCT Police Command attached to the Asokoro Police Divisional Headquarters successfully freed two abducted victims in the early hours of January 31, 2024, at around 1:00 AM.
Police officers from Asokoro Divisional Headquarters acted quickly after learning that two people—later identified as Sarah Hassan and Mrs. Erima Bobo-John—had been kidnapped by armed thugs in the early hours of today at Kobi Community in Abuja. The kidnappers were pursued to Nyanya/Keffi Road, where they were stopped by Nigerian Army soldiers conducting checkpoint operations.
When the bandits spotted the police officers, they started a gunfight with them, but the police’s superior firepower eventually defeated them, forcing them to flee through the adjacent woodland with their captives. The victims were recovered unharmed and have already been reunited with their family.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the rescue and stated that the command is still encouraging the public to report suspicious activity by calling 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653, and 08028940883; PCB: 09022222352.
