Commuters stranded as bridge collapses in Taraba

August 25th, 2024

A bridge linking the Eastern part of the country to the Northeast subregion has collapsed in Taraba State. The bridge known as Namnnai Bridge is located along Jalingo-Wukari in Gassol Local Government Area of the state. According to the Daily Trust, the bridge cut off on Friday, August 23, 2024, following torrential rainfall being experienced in the area. This led to flood along the road which restricted vehicular movement. It was gathered that motorists travelling to Wukari, Abuja, Benue state and the Eastern region will now have to divert through Takum and Jos. Namnnai bridge, built many years ago had cracks, but repairs have been carried out by the Federal government over the years.   The post Commuters stranded as bridge collapses in Taraba appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
